Mission and Guiding Values

MISSION
“The Mission of Poquonock Community Church is to honor Christ together by loving God, loving people, and releasing disciples of Jesus into the community around us.”
 
GUIDING VALUES
WE PROCLAIM – Teaching and preaching of Christ.  We will spread his Word among us and to the world. (Isaiah 61:1-3, Matthew 4:17-23, 2 Timothy 4:2)
 
WE WORSHIP – Speaking and singing to Christ.  We will praise Father, Son, and Holy Spirit whenever and wherever we gather. (Ephesians 5:19-21, Psalm 150)
 
WE TRANSFORM – Tangible and empowered by Christ.  The Holy Spirit will make us a continually more Christ-like and diverse people (Acts 3:6-10)
 
WE PRAY – Eager and heartfelt toward Christ.  We will intercede for one another, for our neighbors, and for the world (James 5:16, Luke 11:1-4)
 
WE GIVE – Generous and resourced from Christ.  We will use all kinds of gifts to enable the whole church (especially the poor and disenfranchised) to do and to go as God calls us (2 Corinthians 8:3-5)
 
WE MOBILIZE – Participating and Partnering with Christ.  We will be a people “on mission”.  (Matthew 28:18-20)
 
WE SERVE – Humble and faithful for Christ.  Individually and as a community, we will do works that demonstrate our confession wherever we go. (Philippians 2:3-4, Mark 10:42-45)
